Moldova: 13 Grain Producers Seek Emergency Agricultural Credit

Since March began, 13 grain producers have applied for the Emergency Agricultural Credit. The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAIA) reports that ten applications have already been approved.

The program offers loans of up to 500,000 lei each and has registered a total demand of approximately five million lei.

MAIA clarifies that the Emergency Agricultural Credit is the only product of its kind backed by a 90% state guarantee. It remains accessible to clients of commercial banks with less-than-ideal credit histories.

This loan program is designed to help farmers who may be struggling financially.

The agricultural credit will be available until May 31, 2024.
