EU and NATO will sign the third Joint Declaration on Cooperation
The European Union (EU) and the North Atlantic Organization (NATO) will sign on January 10 the third joint declaration on cooperation between NATO and the EU, reads a press release from the North Atlantic Alliance.
The document on the cooperation between NATO and the EU will be signed by the Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, and the presidents of the European Commission and the European Council, Ursula von der Leyen and Charles Michel, respectively. The joint declaration will be signed in the context of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, causing the biggest security crisis in Europe since the establishment of the transatlantic alliance and the European Union. It should be noted that this document was in the works at the level of the two organizations for more than a year and a half. The first two declarations were adopted in 2016 and 2018. The EU ensures the protection of its citizens in Europe and beyond, through cooperation with NATO, thanks to the development of a wide range of instruments.
