The Republic of Moldova and NATO strengthen the resilience of the energy sector against cyber and hybrid threats
NATO will help the Republic of Moldova to protect its energy infrastructure from cyber and hybrid threats, the Ministry of Energy announced in a statement. In this regard, the CORE-24 M Exercise took place in Chisinau between March 12-14, 2024, focused on deepening the collaboration between energy operators and institutions that provide protection against cyber attacks, Ministries, government agencies and the private sector.
The Minister of Energy, Victor Parlicov, present at the event, said that the energy sector, digitization brings new opportunities, but also risks and threats. According to the official, we need to ensure that our civilian energy infrastructure is not attacked for malicious purposes.
We remind that the Exercise was supported by the Center of Excellence for Crisis Management and Disaster Response of NATO, the Lithuanian Armed Forces, the Joint Research Center of the European Union, the New Strategy Center in Romania and the Naval Postgraduate School in the USA.
