Expert Warns: Moldova Vulnerable if Ukraine Loses to Russia
If Ukraine were to lose the war with the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin would advance further towards Europe, with the Republic of Moldova being the first country affected, stated foreign policy expert Grigore Guzun on Moldova 1.
He also emphasised that Russia has recently achieved some tactical gains in Ukraine, prompting French leader Emmanuel Macron to discuss potential deployments of European troops in Ukraine.
"Russia has achieved some tactical gains in Ukraine, such as the capture of the city of Avdeevka. This is the basis for Macron's attitude, as he seeks to prevent Russia from translating tactical successes into operational ones. The intricacies of the US presidential elections prompt Macron to urge European countries to increase their support for Ukraine. If Ukraine fails, Putin will advance further towards Europe, with the Republic of Moldova being the first country thereafter. The collapse of Ukraine also signifies the collapse of the Republic of Moldova," declared Grigore Guzun.
French President Emmanuel Macron previously stated that he does not rule out sending troops to Ukraine, while German Chancellor Olaf Scholz explicitly stated that no German soldiers would be sent to Ukraine.
