Twinning project contributed to the alignment of the National Bank of Moldova with European standards in the financial field

The alignment of regulations in the financial field with the European Union directives and the preparation of the accession file of the Republic of Moldova to the Single Euro Payments Area are among the most important achievements of the Twinning project, said today the governor of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM), Anca Dragu.

According to her, thanks to European assistance, the NBM has advanced in terms of aligning financial market surveillance tools with European norms and standards. "In these almost three years, 130 experts have worked so that some of the most important measures that already work in the EU member states can also be found in the National Bank of Moldova, I am referring to macro-prudential supervision, elements of financial stability for the banking market and the non-banking market and the application file for SEBA membership", said Anca Dragu.

We remind that the Twinning project was implemented in the Republic of Moldova for two years and six months, with the support of the European Union. Its general objective was to support the authorities in carrying out the reforms provided for by the Association Agreement, the Agreement on the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area, as well as the Association Agenda.
