Vehicle Registration Made Easier: New Changes
The Executive has approved a decision to simplify, modernise, and make the vehicle registration procedure more citizen-centric.
The project aims to digitise public services and facilitate the way beneficiaries interact with authorities.
According to the project, a number of documents will no longer be mandatory in order to reduce the number of visits to the counter, and access to documents available on the MConnect platform will be extended.
Also, the person will be able to transfer the ownership of the vehicle without the mandatory presentation of the car. It will no longer be necessary to issue a copy of the registration certificate and to deregister the vehicle.
At the same time, the 5 working days deadline offered for the inspections the car must undergo will be extended to 30 days.
