Japan Funds Ultrasound for Moldova Hospital

The Căușeni District Hospital has received a new high-performance ultrasound machine, purchased with a $40,000 grant from the Government of Japan.

An ultrasound machine is a medical device that uses sound waves to produce images of the inside of the body. It is a valuable tool for diagnosing a variety of medical conditions.

The new ultrasound machine will allow doctors at the Căușeni District Hospital to perform more precise and detailed examinations, contributing to an improvement in the quality of medical services offered to patients.

“This is a great day for the Căușeni District Hospital,” said hospital director Dr. Ion Mereuță. “This new ultrasound machine will allow us to provide better care for our patients.”

The Ministry of Health emphasised that the new ultrasound machine is a significant step towards ensuring residents of Căușeni have access to high-quality medical care.

Minister of Health Ala Nemerenco underscored the significance of the new ultrasound machine, stating: "This is a valuable investment in the health of the people of Căușeni."

“This new ultrasound diagnostic device will allow for several thousand examinations to be performed annually here at this medical institution,” said Mori Mariko, First Secretary of the Japanese Embassy.

The “Kusanone” Human Security Grant Program was launched in Moldova in 2008. To date, Japan has provided $7.3 million in non-reimbursable grants for 88 projects in the areas of education, health, and public utilities.
