After the European parliamentary elections on June 9, a pro-European coalition will be formed in the European Parliament that will continue to support the Republic of Moldova, European deputy Siegfried Mureșan said in a show on TVR Moldova. According to the MEP, the accession negotiations of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union will start and will proceed quickly.
"I am confident that the negotiations will begin, they will proceed quickly and the speed of the negotiations will depend, first of all, on the pace of the reforms in Chisinau. And if the progress in the Republic of Moldova continues in the coming years at the speed we have seen in the last three years since we have a pro-European government, I think we will quickly go through the next stages", said the MEP.
We remind you that, after the meeting on March 21, the European Council invited the EU member states to quickly adopt the drafts of the negotiation framework for the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine and to advance without delay the necessary steps.
The intergovernmental conference between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union, which could take place until the end of June, will provide our country with the necessary framework for starting accession negotiations on each separate chapter, said the Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov.
