Iași Airport Opens New Modern Terminal
The new terminal of Iași Airport will be inaugurated next week, according to news.ro. The first flight from the new terminal will be a Iași-Otopeni route, scheduled for Friday, March 29.
Starting Sunday, March 31, all flights within the Schengen Area will operate from the new terminal, while flights to non-Schengen countries will remain in T3.
The new terminal of Iași Airport is over ten times larger than the old one, with an area of over 31,000 square metres (approximately 333,681 square feet), three levels (basement, ground floor, first floor), and a minimum processing capacity of 3.5 million passengers per year.
Terminal T4 has 20 check-in counters, 12 self check-in systems, 14 boarding gates, six security filters, three aerobridges, a VIP and business lounge, spaces for commercial activities, relaxation areas, and a playground.
Iași Airport has increased its parking lot to 600 spaces.
The total value of the Iași Airport development and modernization project is approximately 100 million euros, of which 85% represents European funds.
