Surging Pensions: Average and Minimum Payments Rise After 6% Indexing
After the implementation of a 6% indexing, effective as of today, the average pension has seen a rise of 262 lei.
Consequently, the minimum pension now stands at 2,778 lei, while the average pension for those at the age limit has surged from 2,067 to 3,926 lei.
In comparison to the year 2021, the average pension for those at the age limit witnessed a notable increase of 90%, whereas the minimum pension saw a significant rise of 143%. According to statements from the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the cumulative augmentation in both instances substantially outpaced the cumulative inflation for the corresponding period.
Approximately 680,000 individuals are poised to benefit from the pension indexing initiative, with over 528,000 individuals receiving pensions linked to the age limit and 98,800 individuals receiving disability pensions.
