This party, whose president has been in office since February under a four-year mandate, aims to draw support from the centre-right electorate despite positioning itself on the left-wing spectrum, according to experts.

The "Future of Moldova" Party, unveiled by Vasile Tarlev, originates from the foundation of the "Our Bugeac" formation registered with the Public Services Agency in November 2022, headquartered in Comrat. Tarlev outlined the party's comprehensive action plan for the nation's development across various sectors, including initiatives to bolster the real sector and support domestic producers.

Ion Tăbârță, an expert for Radio Moldova, noted that Tarlev's newly launched party leans towards the left-wing of national politics but intends to garner votes from the centre-right electorate. However, the sources of funding for the party remain unclear at present.

Vasile Tarlev, whose career commenced at a Chișinău candy factory in 1995 where he held the position of director, served as Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova from 2001 to 2008, during the Communist administration. He publicly announced his retirement from political life in November 2009.
