Energocom Secures Gas at Favourable Rates, Eyes Lower Prices for Moldovagaz

In April, Moldovagaz is set to acquire gas from Energocom at a reduced rate of 100 euros cheaper.

This revelation comes following Energocom's procurement of over 30 million cubic metres of gas on April 4th, secured at a price of 450 euros per thousand cubic metres.

Furthermore, Energocom has announced its intention to cover the remainder of the month's consumption needs from its existing stocks, accumulated during the onset of the 2023-2024 cold season. This decision is supplemented by the acquisition of both natural gas and liquefied natural gas (LNG) for testing purposes in early April.

Victor Bînzari, the interim director of SA Energocom, expressed optimism regarding the recent advantageous pricing, foreseeing a potential reduction in gas prices for SA Moldovagaz. He added that they anticipate maintaining such favourable market conditions in the foreseeable future.

Energocom has maintained a procurement rate of 550 euros per thousand cubic metres since the beginning of the year.

In the first 10 months of 2024, the Republic of Moldova achieved a record level of table grape exports to the European Union, which doubled compared to the same period last year. According to Dumitru Alaiba, the Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, the value of these exports reached 627 million lei, reflecting a 1.9-fold increase from the previous year.
