Energocom: From January 1, the Republic of Moldova uses gas only from the reserves stored in Ukraine
The Republic of Moldova no longer imports natural gas from Romania, starting from January 1. Currently, our country is supplied with natural gas only from reserves stored in Ukraine. The information was confirmed for Radio Moldova by Energocom director Victor Binzari. According to him, gas from Romania is used only when it is requested by "Moldovagaz".
"Currently, we are supplying the Republic of Moldova through the points Alexeyevka and Grebenniki, for a few days, and later we will also supply from other points, such as Iași-Isaccea-Căușeni. Everything depends on Moldovagaz. The gas currently owned by Energocom is enough to get through this winter. Now, we get our supplies from Ukraine, but there will be and are days when the gas comes from Romania", said Bînzari.
At the end of December, the Republic of Moldova had about 250 million ㎥ of gas in reserves. The purchase price from Energocom is on average $1,000 per 1,000 ㎥.
