Forum for Reintegration // Oleg Serebrian: "It is difficult to talk about the settlement of the Transnistrian problem without peace in Ukraine"

Without peace in Ukraine, it is difficult to talk about the settlement of the Transnistrian problem, said the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Oleg Serebrian, at the first Reintegration Forum of the Republic of Moldova, which is being held today in Chisinau. According to the official, the Chisinau authorities have the obligation to coordinate their actions with international partners.

"The steps we take are coordinated with our partners and friends from outside. We have a moral political obligation at the moment, as a candidate state, that those steps that we consider legitimate in the reintegration process should still be coordinated and analyzed. The consequences of these steps also need to be calculated and thought through," said Oleg Serebrian.

Over 100 experts from the Republic of Moldova and other European countries participate in the forum. According to the organizers, the purpose of the event is "to promote the development of a national vision on the country's reintegration process through a platform for dialogue and discussions with representatives of public authorities, civil society, research centers, international organizations and diplomatic missions".

The First Reintegration Forum of the Republic of Moldova is organized in Chisinau by the Institute of European Policies and Reforms, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation and the Bureau for Reintegration, in collaboration with Expert-Group and the Promo-LEX Association.
