Mihai Popșoi, in Strasbourg: The Russian Federation is trying to prevent the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the EU

The Russian Federation is trying to take advantage of the difficulties that the Republic of Moldova is going through, caused by its aggression in Ukraine, to divert us from the European path, said in an interview for Moldova 1 TV, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mihai Popșoi, who is in Strasbourg at the PACE spring session. The head of Moldovan diplomacy states that our European partners, including those from the Council of Europe, appreciate the efforts of the citizens and of the country's leadership to fundamentally reform our country.

"Our European partners, including those from the Council of Europe, appreciate the efforts of the citizens and the leadership and the fundamental reform of our country, to bring it closer to the great European family, to all return to a prosperous family, where peace is ensured and these are the efforts we are making during this visit".

Mihai Popșoi is the first Moldovan foreign minister in the last two decades, who was invited to deliver a speech today before the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).

"The main message was one of gratitude for the Republic of Moldova and at the same time a message regarding the successes achieved by the Republic of Moldova despite the enormous difficulties that the Republic of Moldova is going through, as a result of the barbaric aggression of the Russian Federation in Ukraine. Although it was created by the Russian Federation, it tries to exploit them against the future of the Republic of Moldova, against the strategic European integration vector that the Republic of Moldova has clearly exposed ".

We remind you that the spring session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will take place in Strasbourg from April 15-19. A delegation of the Legislative from Chisinau is also participating in the meeting.
