Lavrov accuses Chisinau of trying to turn the Transnistrian region into a "hotbed of tension". The Bureau of Reintegration denies the claims
The settlement of the Transnistrian conflict can only take place peacefully, at the dialogue table and with the full reintegration of the eastern districts of the country into the unique spaces of the Republic of Moldova, within the borders recognized by the international community. It is the reaction of the Bureau for Reintegration, after the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, declared that the authorities in Chisinau would try to turn the Transnistrian region into a "hotbed of tension".
"They want to make Transnistria a hotbed of tension. They talk that this entity should be suppressed militarily and Russia suffer another strategic defeat. But they still have no perspective. And those who with foreign passports rule the countries they come from, I don't think they will be backed for long by those forces that are trying to get something for themselves."
We remind you that last week, the forum for reintegration took place in Chisinau, in which the representatives of Tiraspol did not participate. The so-called administration of the Transnistrian region caused in this forum signs of "escalation and war".
The separatist leader, Vadim Krasnoselski, said that "this forum wants to legitimize pressure measures on Transnistria" and that the escalation of the situation in the Transnistrian region could lead to a world war. The Deputy Prime Minister for reintegration qualified these statements as exaggerated and stated that civil society representatives from the Transnistrian region were invited to the meeting and that the event was public and open to anyone.
We remind that the reintegration forum in Chisinau was also attended by delegates from the European Union, Ukraine and the USA.
