Mircea Geoană: The Republic of Moldova must use AI tools to counter propaganda, disinformation and fake news

The Republic of Moldova must use artificial intelligence tools to counter propaganda, disinformation and fake news, challenges launched from Moscow. The statement was made by the Deputy Secretary General of NATO, Mircea Geoană, in a video message at the "AI & Big Data" Conference in Chisinau. Also, the official said that NATO is working to establish clear policies for the use of new technologies with respect for ethics and fairness.

"In the case of the Republic of Moldova, but also of all democracies, disinformation is used aggressively by countries such as Russia or China. We need to work better together. NATO and the European Union are common partners of our country. We are eager to fight aggressive disinformation, fake news promoted by those who are dissatisfied with the European vector of the Republic of Moldova or the Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine, Georgia and the Western Balkans", declared Mircea Geoană.
