G7 Commitments and Bilateral Agreements: Ukraine's Resilience Against Russian Aggression
President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that Ukraine may soon enter into bilateral agreements with several states, as reported by The Kyiv Independent.
These agreements stem from a commitment made by the Group of Seven (G7) last July, aimed at bolstering Ukraine's resilience against Russian aggression. To date, nine such agreements have been signed with Latvia, Finland, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Denmark, Canada, Italy, and the Netherlands.
President Zelensky also revealed Ukraine's progress towards a significant agreement with the United States, contingent upon the passing of a $61 billion aid bill for Ukraine by Congress.
On April 18, it was announced that Ukraine and the Czech Republic have initiated negotiations for a bilateral security agreement project.
Furthermore, it was previously reported that the governments of Portugal and Ukraine have appointed teams to commence and prepare similar documents.
