Three candidates aspire to the position of chief prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases (PPCOCS). It is about the former prosecutor, currently a lawyer, Andrei Mațco, and prosecutors Eugen Rurac and Sergiu Russu, the latter holding the interim position of head of PCCOCS.

All three candidates submitted their files on the last day of the contest, on January 10, informs IPN.
In the meeting of December 30, the Superior Council of Prosecutors was to set up the special pre-selection commission for candidates for the position of chief prosecutor of the PCCOS and appoint its members. But the meeting was postponed due to lack of quorum.
