Head of the customs post at the Chisinau International Airport Alexandr Vakre resigned

The head of the customs post at the Chisinau International Airport, Alexandr Vakre, submitted his resignation. The information was confirmed for Radio Moldova by the spokesperson of the Customs Service, Tatiana Șompol.

According to her, the request is examined according to the legal provisions in force.

We remind you that recently there have been several resignations within the management of the Customs Service. Thus, on April 4, Igor Talmazan resigned as head of the Customs Service. He mentioned that it is an "honourable resignation", after the case of corruption discovered at the customs post at Chisinau Airport. It is about seven customs inspectors, who would have requested between 50 and 1000 dollars from passengers to bring in or take out goods from the country, without paying the fees stipulated by the legislation.

In the meeting of April 10, the government appointed Viorel Doagă as interim head of the Customs Service.

On the same day, the deputy director of the Customs Service, Nicolae Vutcariov, announced that he resigned.
