Moldova: 10-Day Easter Break for Students!
Students throughout Moldova will embark on a 10-day Easter break starting on May 4 and returning to school on May 14.
This information was announced during a meeting of the Chișinău City Hall by Andrei Pavaloi, Deputy Head of the General Directorate of Education, Youth and Sport. Mr. Pavaloi also reported that students in the capital are actively engaged in various educational activities and specialist-led training sessions. These sessions focus on crucial topics such as road safety rules to be observed during the upcoming holidays, safety measures in the vicinity of bodies of water, and electrical safety instructions.
Emphasising the importance of parental supervision, Mr. Pavaloi urged parents to take precautions to ensure their children's safety.
"Students have been instructed on their responsibility to prioritise their safety and well-being in potentially risky situations," Mr. Pavaloi stated. "I encourage parents to impress upon their children the importance of always informing them about their whereabouts and companions whenever they leave home. Additionally, in case of emergencies, it is vital that children are encouraged to seek help by calling the 112 emergency service. Furthermore, it is essential to instil in children the importance of following proper road crossing practices. We strongly encourage parents to empower their children to take responsibility for environmental protection as well."
It is important to note that students will have a total of ten days off for the Easter break. Graduating students will complete the academic year on May 24, 2024. Summer vacation for students in grades 1-8 and 10-11 is scheduled to take place from June 1 to August 31, 2024 (a total of 92 days).
