The salaries of employees in self-managed educational institutions will be increased

The staff of educational institutions operating in a financial-economic self-management regime will benefit from a monthly increase in a fixed amount of 1,300 lei, starting from January 2023. A decision in this regard was approved on Wednesday by the Cabinet of Ministers.

The project also provides for the increase of the minimum salary of employees in these institutions from 3,500 lei to 4,000 lei.

Also in this meeting, the Government approved the regulations for the payment of team members participating in projects in the fields of research and innovation financed from external sources. The purpose of the increases is to capitalise on the opportunities offered by the status of an associated country to the European Union Program for Research and Innovation "Horizon Europe".

According to the Executive, these changes will allow institutions in the fields of research and innovation that operate under a financial-economic self-management regime to access European funds on equal terms with similar organisations from the member states of the European Union.
