Fly to Riga! AirBaltic Launches Moldova Service
Two new weekly flights operated by AirBaltic have been launched on the Chișinău-Riga route on the Republic of Moldova.
The flights will operate once a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays, offering passengers a choice between Economy and Business Class service.
AirBaltic boasts the world's largest fleet of Airbus A220 aircraft and operates over 130 routes from Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius, Tampere, and seasonally, Gran Canaria. These routes provide connections to a wide range of destinations across the airline's network in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Caucasus region.
"We are delighted to enter this new market and launch this route, connecting Chișinău to the vibrant city of Riga, AirBaltic's home base," said Thomas Ramdahl, AirBaltic's Vice President of Flight Network Development. "We extend our gratitude to our partners at Chișinău Airport for their cooperation. We look forward to offering Moldovan travellers the opportunity to visit and experience this gem of the Baltic countries."
The launch of this direct route between Chișinău and Riga creates a new destination option for tourists from Moldova, according to Natalia Cojocaru, PR Manager of Chișinău Airport.
"This new route presents a valuable opportunity to both stimulate contacts between citizens of Moldova and Latvia and to capitalise on business and tourism opportunities," Cojocaru said. "Riga will become a convenient transportation hub in both directions for travellers across the Baltic and Nordic regions of Europe, providing our passengers with convenient and flexible connections to Nordic countries."
Riga was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1997.
