Fierce battles at Soledar, Ukraine. Kremlin admits heavy losses of Russian forces, while Ukraine calls them the "bloodiest"

Fighting between Ukrainian and Russian forces continues in Soledar, the Russian Defense Ministry said today, hours after the Wagner paramilitary group announced that it had taken control of this city in eastern Ukraine, reports Agerpres. Also today, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov admitted heavy losses of Russian forces.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Army had previously denied the capture of the city of Soledar by Russian forces, after the announcement of the Wagner group regarding taking control over it.

The fighting for the control of the cities of Soledar and Bahmut in eastern Ukraine is the "bloodiest" since the Russian invasion began in February, Ukrainian presidential adviser Mihailo Podoliak told Agence France Presse today, who believes that Ukraine can win this war if the Western powers would provide it with more weapons, especially missiles with a range of over 100 kilometers and hundreds of heavy tanks.
