Igor Grosu: In the last 3 years, every member country of the European Union has proved that it supports the Republic of Moldova and wants our country to become European
Parliamentarians from the member countries of the European Union celebrated Europe Day in the Chisinau legislative, where they sent strong messages of support for our country. At the opening of the event, the Parliament Speaker, Igor Grosu, emphasized that the European Union is, today, the biggest economic and development partner of our country.
"In the last 3 years, every member country has shown us that they support the Republic of Moldova and want Moldova to become European. Each of the 27 member states treated us with great respect and empathy, as it should be in a big, united family. When we were hit by crisis after crisis, you put your shoulder to support us and we managed to hold on. We have become stronger, more independent and more determined in our decisions about our future. You also treated us with a brotherly spirit when you opened our doors wide, offering us the status of a candidate country for EU integration. Our firm choice was and will be to live freely, in democracy, not under oppression and fear", declared Igor Grosu.
We remind that the Legislative of the Republic of Moldova hosts, today, the joint visit of the presidents of the friendship groups from the Parliaments of the European Union member states, such as Austria, Estonia, the Hellenic Republic, Ireland, Italy and Romania. After the meeting in the Legislative, the officials will travel to Ungheni, where they will familiarize themselves with several projects implemented with the support of the European Union.
