Russia has not given up the idea of capturing Kiev, General Pavliuk
Russia has not abandoned the idea of capturing Kiev. The critical phase of the war will come in the next 2 months, writes The Economist with reference to the commander of the Land Forces, General Alexandr Pavliuk.
According to him, the occupiers check the defense lines to hit the weakest, but they will not be able to carry out an offensive on more.
"The defense of Kiev remains one of our main tasks, however difficult it may be in the east. This is the heart of Ukraine, and we know what a key role the defense of the capital will play in the future... Russia knows that if we get enough weapons in a month or two, the situation could turn against them,” he said.
He added that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are facing a major shortage of artillery and armored vehicles, not people.
