More polling stations will be opened in the Republic of Moldova by the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the 9 June Europarliamentary elections than in the previous elections.
Thus, while in 2019 there were 36 polling stations, in 2024 there will be 52 polling stations. In total, 915 polling stations will be open at the headquarters of Romania's diplomatic missions and consular offices abroad for this election, 474 more than the polling stations organised for the 2019 European parliamentary elections, informs the MFA in Bucharest.
It should be recalled that in the 2019 Europarliamentary elections, approximately 38 thousand Moldovans with Romanian citizenship voted in the Republic of Moldova.
According to MAE, the number of polling stations organised abroad was established on the basis of regular consultations of representatives of diplomatic missions with representatives of Romanian diaspora communities and taking into account the dynamics of relocation of Romanian citizens in the diaspora in recent years.
Most of the sections will be organised in the states where the largest communities of Romanian citizens are located: Italy (150 polling stations), Spain (147 polling stations), United Kingdom (104 polling stations), Germany (87 polling stations), France and Monaco (67 polling stations), Republic of Moldova (52 polling stations), USA (45 polling stations), Belgium (24 polling stations), Austria (17 polling stations), Ireland (16 polling stations), Kingdom of the Netherlands (16 polling stations), Denmark (14 polling stations), Canada (12 polling stations).
The list of polling stations abroad and their addresses can be found on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the section dedicated to elections.
