Dorin Recean: UTAG Gagauzia Leaders Serve Russian Interests in Moldova's Destabilisation
The Russian Federation relies on political forces within the Republic of Moldova to destabilise the country and hinder its Euro Integration path.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean made this statement in an interview with the state agency "Moldpres." He emphasised that politicians serving the Russian Federation's interests, at the expense of national interests, do not represent Moldova or its citizens. Recean lamented the presence of voices seeking to distort reality within Moldova and linked them to Russia's wide scale invasion of Ukraine and subsequent war crimes.
When asked about the Gagauz leaders' role in destabilising Moldova, Recean stressed that these voices serve Russia's interests, not Moldova's. He clarified that they are not political parties but rather part of an organised criminal group that Russia relies on for destabilisation efforts.
Recean affirmed his administration's commitment to communication with citizens, entrepreneurs, and local officials to implement beneficial projects for the region.
Regarding the government's readiness to counter threats, the head of the Chișinău Government stated that state institutions would sanction attempts to destabilise and violate the law.
Parliament approved the Security Strategy, highlighting the Russian Federation and corruption as the primary threats to national security.
