Vladimir Bolea attends the FAO regional conference in Rome

The FAO Regional Conference for Europe (ERC), which was to be hosted by the Republic of Moldova, is being held from May 14-17, at the headquarters of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, the biennial regional conference is FAO's main governing body for the Europe and Central Asia region. The ERC will bring together FAO members from the region, as well as representatives from UN agencies, academia and research, the private sector and civil society. Another important item on the agenda will be the summation of the results of FAO's work in the region in 2022-2023 and a discussion on future priorities until 2031.

The priorities discussed will be found in the FAO Strategic Framework 2022-2031 and will be part of its goal of achieving better production, better nutrition, a better environment and a better life.

The conference will feature a series of related events on diverse topics ranging from efficient water resource management to the power of true cost accounting for transforming agri-food systems and sustainable locust management.

We remind you that, previously, the authorities in Chisinau announced that they would not allow the participation of Russian officials in the Regional Conference of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), which will take place from May 14 to 17 in Rome.
