A ship sank in the Black Sea, near the city of Sfântu Gheorghe, Romania. Three crew members are reported missing

A ship under the flag of Tanzania sank, on Saturday morning, in the Black Sea, 26 nautical miles from Sfântu Gheorghe, Romania. Eight crew members were rescued and three were reported missing. Several ships are conducting search operations in the area, reports news.ro.

The representatives of the Romanian Naval Authority informed that the sunken ship, Mohammed Z, under the flag of Tanzania, had on board 11 crew members, nine Syrian citizens and two Egyptian citizens, and eight of them were rescued by the commercial ship Michel, which was on closer to the accident site.

"At this moment, efforts continue to search for the other three missing crew members, all of whom are of Syrian nationality. The reason for the sinking of the ship is not known at this moment and a research case will be opened to establish the causes and circumstances of the accident ", informs the Romanian Naval Authority.
