Meeting of the Republic of Moldova-EU Association Council will take place in Brussels next week
The eighth meeting of the Republic of Moldova - European Union (EU) Association Council will take place next week in Brussels, on May 21. The delegation from Chisinau will be led by Prime Minister Dorin Recean and Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, reads a press release issued by the Government.
"The meeting will be co-chaired by the High Representative of the EU for foreign affairs and security policy, Josep Borell, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Dorin Recean, with the participation of the European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, Olivér Várhelyi", mentions the Executive.
In Brussels, the evolution of relations between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union will be discussed, through the lens of the implementation of the Association Agreement and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area, as well as the progress of preparations for the formal opening of accession negotiations.
The agenda of the meeting provides for discussions on political dialogue and reforms, justice, freedom and security, collaboration and convergence in the field of foreign and security policy, as well as economic and sectoral cooperation, with energy and trade in the foreground.
Within the Association Council, two important documents for our country will be signed: the Moldova-EU Security and Defense Partnership and the Agreement regarding the participation of the Republic of Moldova in the Program for Employment and Social Innovations (EaSI), which will allow access to funds for the social policies implementation.
