New and partial local elections are held in nine localities in the Republic of Moldova
Over 10,760 voters are expected at the 13 polling stations organized for the new and partial local elections in nine localities in the country. The polling stations will be open until 21:00.
Thus, new local elections for a new composition of local councils will take place in Cairaclia and Salcia localities, Taraclia district, Chioselia Rusă and Cotovskoe in UTA Gagauzia, and for the position of mayor - in Tîrnova commune, Dondușeni district, Bucovăț city, Strășeni district , Sagaidac village, Cimișlia district and Hănăsenii Noi commune, Leova district.
At the same time, partial elections for the position of mayor will be held in Chioselia Rusă and Cotovskoe localities in the Gagauz Autonomous Region, and a new local council is to be elected in the Cealîc commune, Taraclia district.
According to the CEC, 22 candidates were registered for the position of mayor, of which 19 are nominated by political parties, and 3 are independent candidates. 96 people were registered for the position of councilor in local councils: 1 independent candidate and 95 from political parties.
We remind you that the voter who, for reasons of health or other valid reasons, cannot come to the polling station premises, can request to vote with a mobile ballot box. On the day of voting, applications are approved by the electoral office until 2:00 p.m. only upon presentation of a medical certificate.
