Summer Fun & Learning: Chișinău Camps
This summer, around 10,000 children in Chișinău will be spending their time at summer camps.
The Department of Education, Youth and Sports announced that over 2,400 students will be exempt from paying for camp tickets.
The municipal budget will allocate over 35 million lei to prepare the camps and cover 80% of the cost of summer camp tickets.
"This year, there will be 15 day camps, 3 permanent camps, 14 sports camps located outside the city, and 1 ecological camp," said Andrei Pavaloi, deputy director of the Department of Education, Youth and Sports. "Extracurricular activities and summer camps will also be offered at the 13 extracurricular institutions from June 1 to 30. We also have 20 thematic camps within the community centres for children and youth and thematic camps within the municipal library Bogdan Petriceicu-Hașdeu," he added.
In total, 9,980 camp tickets are planned for this summer. Out of these, 2,438 children attending the camps will not have to pay.
The cost of a ticket for a 15-day day camp, running from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, is 510 lei, or 20% of the total price. For a 10-day stay in a permanent camp, parents will also pay 20% of the total price, amounting to 740 lei.
