Boost for Ukraine: Spain Sends Military Aid, Urges Defense Investment

Spain is sending a new military aid package to Ukraine, including a batch of Leopard tanks and missiles specifically designed for Patriot air defence systems, according to a statement from Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.

Umerov spoke with his Spanish counterpart, Margarita Robles, by phone on Wednesday evening. During the call, he expressed his gratitude for Spain's assistance to Ukraine.

The new aid package from Spain includes missiles designed for Patriot air defence systems, 155mm artillery shells, anti-drone systems, and other weaponry, detailed by the Ukrainian minister.

Umerov emphasised Ukraine's critical need for additional air defence equipment to bolster its defence capabilities against Russia.

The Ukrainian defence minister also called on the Spanish government and companies to consider investing in Ukraine's defence industry.
