US Secretary of State anticipates that Ukraine will become stronger in the coming months, including from a military viewpoint
The United States of America (USA) appreciates the solidarity of the Republic of Moldova with the Ukrainian people, and the evolution of the situation in Ukraine is important not only for Ukraine, but also for our country and the whole of Europe. For this reason, the USA massively supports Ukraine. A statement to this effect was made by the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken. According to the official, if Russia advances on the front, the attacks will not be limited to Ukraine.
"We are grateful for the solidarity of the Republic of Moldova with Ukraine. The Republic of Moldova has direct experience with these challenges, which is why I believe you feel so strongly with the Ukrainian people. You really are a small country with a big heart. I think that Moldovans are aware that what is happening in Ukraine is important not only for Ukraine, but also for the Republic of Moldova, for the rest of Europe and beyond. If we allow these aggressions against Ukraine to continue, these attacks will be seen in other places, not just in Ukraine. That is why we stand by and support Ukraine for so long. I think we have a positive and powerful effect because of it. We are here bringing President Biden's firm commitment to the sovereignty and success of the Republic of Moldova", said Antony Blinken.
Ukraine will be a successful country, strong militarily, economically and democratically, said Antony Blinken.
"In the coming months you will see greater resilience, supported by aid to Ukraine. If we think about the future, we are on the way to ensure that Ukraine will be a successful country. It will be strong militarily, economically and democratically. It will send a very clear signal to Putin that he cannot dominate and will not succeed in Ukraine," the official stressed.
Meanwhile, the US ambassador to NATO, Julian Smith, said yesterday at the meeting of the leaders of the North Atlantic Alliance in Washington that there will be important changes in the wording regarding the prospect of Ukraine's accession to NATO, but the invitation will not be launched, at the NATO summit in July. Instead, Washington will focus on providing a support package that will enable the construction of an accession bridge, the official said.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg also insists the Allies must review restrictions on Ukraine's ban on striking the Russian Federation with Western weapons amid border battles in the Kharkiv region.
