Parliament condemns the Russian Federation for the Ukrainian children deportation
The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova condemns the genocidal policy of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, carried out by the forced displacement and deportation of Ukrainian children to the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and the territory of the Russian Federation. The Parliament's declaration stating this was voted today by 60 deputies.
The deputy chairperson of the Parliament, Doina Gherman, said thatour country joins other international institutions that have issued similar statements and resolutions, such as the European Parliament, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the parliaments of the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, France , Iceland, Poland, the United States and Canada.
"The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova reconfirms its firm support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders, expressing its solidarity with the people of Ukraine and paying tribute to those who sacrificed their lives in defense of Ukraine. The Parliament launches the call for unity, vigilance and responsibility by all citizens of the Republic of Moldova, who want peace and freedom for the Republic of Moldova".
Doina Gherman also stated that according to official Ukrainian data, since the beginning of the war, the Russian Federation has killed 537 children, injured more than 1,275 children, and another 2,067 have been declared missing. Also, 19,546 children were abducted by the aggressor state and about 260,000 were forcibly displaced.
