Severe Injuries in Hagen: Police Hunt for Perpetrator Amidst Crime Scene Investigation
Four individuals have sustained severe injuries in armed incidents within the city of Hagen, located in western Germany, as announced by the police of North Rhine-Westphalia on Saturday.
The alleged perpetrator remains at large, with police employing a helicopter in the ongoing search.
Authorities previously confirmed to dpa the existence of two crime scenes: one at a barber shop in Hagen, situated south of Dortmund, and the other at a residential building in the city centre.
Additionally, the police have deployed numerous officers to both areas and have advised citizens to avoid these locations.
The incident is believed to potentially stem from a familial dispute, as indicated by the police.
According to AFP, the police currently rule out a political motive.
This incident follows a knife attack in the city centre of Mannheim, in southwestern Germany, which resulted in several injuries.
The suspected assailant, a 25-year-old Afghan, reportedly targeted a gathering of an anti-Islam movement, resulting in serious injuries to six individuals, including a police officer.
Although the motive behind the attack has yet to be officially determined, the government has referenced a possible Islamist motive.
