Volodymyr Zelensky, at the largest security forum in Asia: We appreciate the support from the US

In Singapore, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy had a meeting with US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin. The officials discussed the development of a bilateral security agreement and ongoing US support for Ukraine.

"We discussed the key issues: the defense needs of our country, the strengthening of Ukraine's air defense system, the F-16 coalition and the development of a bilateral security agreement. I am grateful to him for making an important decision regarding defensive strikes with American weapons on enemy territory to effectively counter Russian attempts to expand the battle zone. We appreciate the vital defense and political support for Ukraine by the United States for making an important decision on defensive strikes with American weapons on enemy territory to effectively counter Russian attempts to expand the battle zone," said Volodymyr Zelensky on Platform X.

According to the US Secretary of Defense, the US will continue to support Ukraine against Russian aggression.

“We discussed U.S. security assistance to meet Ukraine's capability needs and reaffirmed the U.S. commitment to maintain strong support of a coalition of more than fifty countries to help Ukraine defend its freedom. The United States' support for Ukraine's fight against Russian aggression will never end," Lloyd Austin noted. We remind that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has been in Singapore starting Saturday, June 1, to participate in the Shangri-La Dialogue, the largest annual security forum in Asia.

This is the Ukrainian president's second trip to Asia since Russia invaded his country in February 2022. Last May, he attended the G7 Summit in Japan.
