Preliminary results of the second round of the new local elections in Tîrnova and Bucovăț
According to the data of the Central Electoral Commission, Vladimir Gîsca, the candidate of the "Socialist Party of the Republic of Moldova" for the position of mayor in the town of Tîrnova, Dondușeni district, got 741 votes. Irina Maximova, who ran for the position of mayor in Bucovăț, Străseni district, from the European Social Democratic Party, got 282 votes, and Nicolae Lozovan from the Action and Solidarity Party - 217 votes.
Under the provisions of the Electoral Code, in the second round of voting, the candidate who obtained the highest number of votes is considered elected.
Also, the CEC points out that all the information provided until the receipt of the original documents from the lower electoral bodies is preliminary.
The residents of Tîrnova commune, Dondușeni district and those of Bucovăț city, Strășeni district, went to the polls again on June 2, to elect their mayors.
According to the Central Electoral Commission, a total of 4,259 ballots were printed for this election, of which over 3,200 were in Romanian and a little over a thousand in Russian.
