Chisinau: Measles outbreak in a family with five children
An outbreak of measles was registered in a family with five children in Chisinau. This was announced at today's meeting of the City Hall, by the deputy head of the General Directorate of Medical and Social Assistance, Vladimir Bolocan, who informed that at the moment their state of health is stable.
"Last week there was a family outbreak of measles. It is a family with five children. Thanks to the involvement of family doctors and others, these children are currently safe. It is a case of rather high gravity, but it is under control," said the deputy head of the General Directorate of Medical and Social Assistance. According to him, vaccination is mandatory, because in this way the person can be protected from diseases that, in general, have no specific treatment. Only vaccination can prevent the disease.
"The world is aware of the need for vaccination. In this way we will continue to make an effort to promote vaccination. Together with the National Public Health Agency, we are planning in the near future to organize two days of training in Chisinau, with the medical institutions in the capital, which will be joined by other medical institutions ", said Vladimir Bolocan.
According to the data presented by the deputy head of the General Directorate of Medical and Social Assistance, in the last period, a vaccination rate of over 68 percent was reached in the centers for refugees.
