Moldova to exchange classified information with the USA
The government on Wednesday decided to open negotiations on a draft agreement with the US government on the exchange and mutual protection of classified information.
As INFOTAG reports, an official delegation for the negotiations, consisting of representatives of the Information and Security Service and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has also been authorized. It will be headed by Victor Hodoroja, deputy director of the Information and Security Service.
Moldovan Foreign Ministry Secretary General Mihai Mitu said that the protection of information is one of the priority areas of state security.
The signing of the agreement, Mitu said, will make it possible to ensure consistency, clarity and responsibility in the relations between the two countries in this field and “will increase the coherence of mutual measures for the protection of classified information.”
At the end of May, Moldova signed an intergovernmental agreement on the exchange and mutual protection of classified information with Lithuania.
