Romanian Ambassador Backs Moldova's European Future: Civic Engagement Soars
The Romanian Ambassador to our country, Cristian Leon-Țurcanu, cast his vote for "a resilient Romania within a Europe characterised by peace and prosperity".
He further expressed his support for the European future of the Republic of Moldova. Concurrently, the Romanian Embassy in our nation reports that Moldovan citizens holding Romanian citizenship have been queuing at polling stations since their opening. This demonstration of civic engagement is acknowledged by diplomatic circles as evidence of responsibility and civic spirit.
Klaus Iohannis, the President of Romania, issued a message urging all Romanians to participate in the voting process on Sunday, emphasising the significance of the day. He underscored the importance of civic duty in a democratic society.
Moldovan citizens, including those with Romanian citizenship, as well as citizens of other EU member states, are eligible to vote in today's European parliamentary elections. Romania has established 52 polling stations in the Republic of Moldova, where voting will take place between 07:00 and 22:00. The European Parliament, consisting of 720 Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), represents the 450 million citizens of the European Union. Romania will be represented by 33 MEPs in the European Parliament.
