Soldiers of the National Army will participate in the "Peace Shield 2024" exercise
The National Army will conduct, between June 17-28, the multinational exercise "Peace Shield 2024", informs the Ministry of Defense. In connection with the preparations for the exercise, during the month of June, there will be several movements of military equipment from the places of permanent deployment to the Training Center of the National Army on the national roads.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Defense, the exercise aims to evaluate the 22nd "Blue Helmets" peacekeeping battalion according to the rules provided by the Concept of Operational Capabilities.
The military will be checked by national and international experts when carrying out actions specific to international peacekeeping missions, such as: patrol, convoy and escort, search of vehicles at checkpoints, ensuring the security of strategic objectives, medical evacuation, as well as granting the first medical help.
Certification according to the Operational Capabilities Concept is a mandatory condition for the participation of the National Army in peacekeeping missions under the auspices of the UN, including KFOR in Kosovo and UNIFIL in Lebanon.
