European Integration Focus: Moldovan-Romanian Consultation Highlights
The political-diplomatic dialogue between Chișinău and Bucharest, along with the bilateral agenda emphasising infrastructure development, energy projects, coordinated border control continuation, and cultural cooperation, constituted the focal points of a Moldovan-Romanian interministerial political consultation.
This meeting, held at the level of State Secretary of Foreign Affairs, convened at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) of the Republic of Moldova.
During the consultation, the delegations engaged in a detailed exchange of opinions concerning the European integration trajectory of the Republic of Moldova. Romanian diplomats reaffirmed their unwavering support for Moldovan authorities' reform endeavours aimed at advancing closer alignment with the European Union. Concurrently, both parties acknowledged Chișinău's accomplishments along its journey towards EU accession, as conveyed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE).
Additionally, discussions encompassed regional and multilateral cooperation and mutual support, with particular attention given to the forthcoming conference of the Partnership Platform for the Republic of Moldova. This initiative, jointly led by Romania, France, and Germany, is slated to convene in Chișinău during the upcoming autumn.
The Moldovan delegation, led by State Secretary Carolina Perebinos, engaged in the consultation alongside their Romanian counterparts, led by Ana Cristina Tinca, State Secretary for Strategic Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania. This restructuring aims to enhance clarity, readability, and formality, addressing the identified issues from the previous analysis.
