Parliament Sanctions: Speaker Grosu Acts on Political Disruptions

Deputies associated with the fugitive oligarch Ilan Șor, who obstructed the Parliament podium on June 13, have been barred from participating in the next five plenary sessions.

The decision was made based on the proposal of Speaker Igor Grosu, following consultations with the Permanent Bureau, amidst the backdrop of opposition from parliamentary protesters.

This measure was implemented by deputies of the governing party Action and Solidarity, following the proposal of Parliament President Igor Grosu, after the seven parliamentarians blocked the central podium of the plenary for several hours and refused to unblock it, as requested by the speaker.

"In accordance with Article 133, paragraph 1, I have issued a warning to you. I called you to order and applied for the sanction of withdrawing the floor. We urge you to adhere to the provision 'F', which prohibits participation in sessions for up to 10 sessions. Additionally, I propose prohibiting participation in Parliament sessions for up to 5 sessions. Gentlemen Bolea, Fotescu, Ulanov, Lozovan, Tauber, Apostolova, Nesterovschi, please unblock the podium. Esteemed colleagues, in this situation, according to Article 133, paragraph 1, letter f, I propose applying the sanction of prohibiting participation in plenary sessions for 5 sessions," stated Igor Grosu after the Permanent Bureau convened following the central podium blockade.
