"Of course, it is very important that all the states of the world come to reaffirm their position in relation to the fact that the world must be governed by rules, by law, by commitments assumed by everyone and not by the possibility of a state that, if it has power, it subjugates, takes its territory, destroys its neighbor's identity - in this case Ukraine", said Iulian Chifu.

According to the expert, the summit will end with the adoption of a document aimed at supporting Ukraine's peace project and aims to achieve the widest possible consensus in this regard.

"This is the stake, obtaining the widest possible consensus, a world based on rules, on international law, which subsequently, Ukraine has already announced will be the subject of discussions with the Russian Federation. The peace conference is not a space for negotiations, it is a political meeting, with deep relevance of public support, and, above all, of validating common positions of all participants", said the foreign policy analyst from Bucharest.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskiy and the President of Switzerland, Viola Amherd opened the Ukraine Peace Summit, unian.info announces on Telegram. World leaders today joined Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the Swiss Summit to explore ways to end Europe's bloodiest conflict since World War II. The president Maia Sandu also participates in the event.

About 4,000 police officers ensure the safety of the summit participants. Both Kiev and its international partners are aware that the current conference, organized at the highest level, will be only the first step on the way to a just peace in Ukraine.
