Moldova Honors Healthcare Workers on Medical Worker Day
Every year, on the third Sunday of June, Moldova celebrates Medical Worker and Pharmacist Day.
To mark the occasion, various events were held throughout the country last weekend. These events honoured the work and dedication of healthcare professionals who tirelessly dedicate themselves to public health. Medical workers received diplomas and awards of appreciation in recognition of their outstanding contributions to improving healthcare services and their daily professionalism.
Parliament President Igor Grosu delivered a congratulatory message to medical system workers. President Grosu offered his well wishes, urging medical professionals to continue their dignified work. He acknowledged the challenges of the healthcare system, but highlighted recent progress. This progress includes a 2.4 billion lei government investment over the past three years to renovate hospitals across the country.
President Grosu also mentioned that nine maternity hospitals in Moldova have been supplied with modern equipment in recent years. Over 100 new ambulances have been purchased and distributed to districts, and the salaries of medical system employees have been increased by an average of 15 percent. These measures represent steps towards bringing better and more accessible healthcare services to local communities.
