From January 17, the Iași-Ungheni gas pipeline will be put back into operation

The Iași-Ungheni gas pipeline will be put back into operation starting from January 17, said the acting director of SA Energocom, Victor Bînzari, in an interview for Vocea Bessarabiei. According to him, this is possible due to the physical import of natural gas, in the reverse regime, a process carried out through the trans-Balkan interconnector.

"We are not delivering today, we will deliver through this gas pipeline, I think starting on January 17. We have procured quantities and will deliver them during this period. But I can tell you that, thanks to the flow that came from the Trans-Balkan, we implemented and capitalised on this gas pipeline, which for a long time was stagnant, waiting for us to take certain actions. And, of course, in December, it was used to the max. It is a gas pipeline that works and everyone is satisfied with these results", declared Victor Binzari.

Victor Bînzari also said that currently the company he leads is able to supply the Republic of Moldova with gas and electricity and is willing to deliver all the necessary quantities. He stated that our country can procure natural gas at European conditions. He also gave assurances that this winter we will not have deficiencies.

Radio Moldova recalls that since December, the entire amount of natural gas delivered by "Gazprom" arrives in the Transnistrian region after "Energocom" signed the electricity supply contract with the Cuciurgan Power Plant.

Currently, "Moldovagaz" buys natural gas from "Energocom" for consumers on the right bank of the Dniester.
