Poland and Moldova Deepen Ties Amid EU Accession Efforts
Poland will continue to support the Republic of Moldova's process of joining the European Union.
This assurance comes from the Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Radoslaw Sikorski, and was made during a meeting with the head of diplomacy from Chișinău, Mihai Popșoi. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Radoslaw Sikorski urged the authorities in Chișinău, during the discussions, to continue implementing reforms and to align with European standards.
Minister Mihai Popșoi announced that he thanked his Polish counterpart for the support he provides to the Republic of Moldova.
“We agreed to continue deepening bilateral relations as the Republic of Moldova advances on the path of European integration. During the meeting, we analysed opportunities to improve economic collaboration. Currently, we have Polish investments in important sectors such as IT, construction, and agriculture. We hope that more Polish companies will invest in the Republic of Moldova,” specified the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Mihai Popșoi announced that he expressed his opinion on the importance of interparliamentary cooperation, defence, regional security, hybrid threats, etc.
Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi is undertaking three working visits to Warsaw, Poland; Bratislava, Slovakia; and Vienna, Austria. The visits are planned for June 17-20.
