Italian President began his official visit to Moldova
The President of the Republic of Italy, Sergio Mattarella, began his first working visit to Moldova today.
He arrived in Chisinau this afternoon and was welcomed by President Maia Sandu at the Palace of the Republic in the evening. The two heads of state attended a classical music concert dedicated to the Italian composer Giacomo Puccini, whose 100th anniversary of death is celebrated this year.
The official welcoming ceremony for the President of Italy will be held tomorrow morning at the Presidency. After bilateral talks, Maia Sandu and Sergio Mattarella will hold a joint press conference.
Italy hosts the largest Moldovan diaspora community, which contributes to strengthening the ties between the two countries, developing the economy and building bridges between people and communities.
